How Open Source Technologies are Making Apps Faster and More Flexible

0 0
Play34 min

Digital transformation is one of the most talked about concepts in the business community.

Most of the conversations focus around the pros and cons of various software solutions or  in many cases simply the need for companies to digitise more of their operations.

We don’t often hear much about the back end of digitization – what’s happening further upstream that’s powering all of our applications.

Although we might not be aware of it, there’s a lot happening in the cloud – and one company that few outside of the tech sector have heard of – is a driving force behind this.

Today I’m speaking with Daniel Aw, Vice President for Regional Enterprise Sales in Asia Pacific for Red Hat.

Red Hat is a software company that supports open source development and delivers any application on any cloud, anywhere.

The Red Hat hybrid cloud console gives users the content, tools and visibility to deploy applications quickly across clouds.

In this episode of A Seat at The Table Daniel talks about:

1.  Why open source is more advantageous for companies than closed source software.

2. Opportunities for mid sized companies to use open source platforms to develop proprietary applications.

3. What’s next for cloud-based software solutions.
